I didn't know anything about the place before I went (I was along for the ride). Truly a great experience for a beer drinker! The Germans love their dogs!

Yes, Andechs monastery and its beer garden is a great place. It's located in such a lovely landscape and you have a terrific view over the Ammersee (Lake Ammer).

But you need to bring some time to go there! Best is if you make a day trip to Andechs.

Combine the visit with some swimming in the Ammersee, a nice walk up the hill and reward yourself with a Mass Beer ! Fantastic!
