Kids at Beer Tents?

Are kids free if parents have tickets for the tent?

If so what are the age limits?

Hi Lisa,

Admission to the beer tents at Oktoberfest is always free, you never need to buy tickets!

You might want to have a reservation, but even the reservation itself is free, they charge you 2 beers and 1/2 chicken in advance which is the minimum consumption.
Read hear to find out how to make an Oktoberfest reservation.

Kids are allowed in the beer tents, as long as they're accompanied by their parents. But responsible parents would only do so in the morning and early afternoon.

A beer tent in the evening, when the party is going on and people dance on the tables (many of them drunk), is not a place for kids.

You wouldn't bring them to a night club or dance bar either, would you?

Instead, take your children to the "family corner" at Theresienwiese, where you find foods and drinks for little ones as well as carousels, mini scooter and even infrastructure for changing diapers :-)
