Oktoberfestlieder (Octoberfest Songs)

by Bruce
(Virginia Beach)

I am going to Oktoberfest this September. I speak a little German and would like to be able to join in the festivities by singing the beer drinking songs.

What are some of the songs that will be played and sung? I am learning 'In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus'. What other songs are most likely to be sung?

The song "In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus" by Spider Murphy Gang is definitely THE most popular Oktoberfest song. It creates such strong vibes, that it was actually forbidden during a few years in the tents, due to security reasons.

Some other popular songs are:

Marmor, Stein und Eisen bricht
Hey, Baby
Ich bin der Anton aus Tirol
Viva Colonia
Wahnsinn
54’ 74’ 90’ 2010

We learned Anton aus Tyrol, In München steht ein Hofbräuhaus, and of course, Ein Prosit. Had a great time & fit in quite well.

Thanks for coming back!

Hi Bruce,

I'm glad you had such a good time. And the songs don't change with the years, so you can use them again next time :-)
