Schottenhamel Opening Day

For the opening keg tapping, is there anyway to get in Schottenhamel, i read if you get in line at 6 am ish, there i s a chance you can get in as well as a youtube video of people getting in at 7am, other places says no it is all VIP, does anyone know the truth ?

Hi Kevin,

you could try to make a reservation for the Schottenhamel tent, but you will need at least ten persons.

The Schottenhamel tent will be very crowded for the opening ceremony. But if you definitely want to go, you can stand in line at 6a.m. and most probably will get inside. I know at least two persons who did this last year.

Obviously VIPs get reservations, but especially younger persons (below 25) stand in line to get into the tent to see the "Anstich" (keg opening).
