1958 Munich Memorial Site

Hello,

Is there still transport links by either train or bus service that I can get that takes me from the centre of Munich to the Munich-Riem airport?

If so how long is the journey?

Thank you

Hi C Cadden,

As you might be aware, the airport Munich-Riem does no longer exist. About 20 years ago we got the new, modern and bigger Franz-Josef-Strauss-Airport about 50km North of Munich.

The former airport in Riem has been converted into an exhibition area for trade fairs, and off course, there still are public transport links.
Even more than before:

Easiest way to go to the 1958 Munich Memorial Site is to take the underground U2 (the red line) and get off at Moosfeld station. Travel time from Munich center is approx. 20 minutes.

When coming from Munich suburbs, you can also take the suburban train (S-Bahn) S4 to Trudering.

The original memorial is on the corner of Emplstraße and Karotschstraße, but there's also a new memorial inaugurated in 2004, which is visible from the original memorial and is on the corner of Emplstraße and Rappenweg.
