Skiing near Munich

Hallo-

My family is planning to visit Munich in March.

We have 4 children from 12 to 18 years and were thinking we might like to go skiing for a day, except my younger kids have never gone skiing and would need an intro lesson and an easy start.

My other kids have skied once or twice a year and feel fairly confident. Neither my husband or I are interested in skiing, but thought it might be fun to give our kids a chance to try it.

Thanks

Skiing Areas within 1-Hour-Drive from Munich

Hi Amy,

There are several skiing areas within 1-hour-drive from Munich.

Most popular probably being Sudelfeld and Spitzingsee.

They are perfect for a one day trip from Munich. If you can, go there on a weekday and there will be much less people.

The ski runs have different colors: blue for beginners, red for intermediate and black for expert skiers.

In every of those skiing resorts you can rent gear and also get an instructor for your kids.

Only problem with these nearby skiing areas is the snow :-
Because they aren't located very high up, there's not always snow, so make sure to check the snow foreast before going!

Here you can find more information on the mountains closest to Munich:
