Travel from Geneva
You have a wonderful website! I will be traveling by car to Munich from Geneva. Can you suggest the best route?

Hi Kate,
Thanks for your kind words about my site!
If you want to reach Munich within one day starting in Geneva, there is basically only one route:
Take the motorway A1 via Lausanne, Bern, Zurich, St. Gallen, cross Austria at the corner of Lake Constance and then follow the Autobahn A96 into Munich.
The distance is around 580 km and it will take about 6 hours.
If you want to make a journey out of your trip and stay overnight, you can take some of the smaller scenic roads through the Alps and visit some lovely towns like Luzern or Vaduz the capital of Liechtenstein on the way.
But these scenic roads are very curvy and you will need at least two days.
