Visting the Munich Museum of science and technology

Hello,

Thanks for this wonderful site. I am Komal Machindar from India and have been to Munich Museum in 1998.

I had decided that I would get my son to the museum when he is 14 years old and now he is.

I would like to see the museum in detail. I am not sure if one day would be enough for the same.

I will be accompanied with my husband and 7 year old daughter. They would probably not be interested with the Museum. Can you please suggest any places nearby. We plan to come to Munich for a week.

Also suggest some good place to stay. Request you to suggest good time of the year to visit.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Komal,

The Deutsches Museum for Science and Technology is truly a fantastic experience at any age.

I'm sure your husband and daughter will also like it, because there are so many things for different interests and ages to see. Maybe they could join you for a few hours and then spend the rest of the day somewhere else?

Depending on the season you visit, any of our parks, like English garden, Olympiapark or the Isar banks would be great for them to walk and play.

As for a place to stay, I recommend any hotel that is located centrally within 2-3 underground stations from Central Station (Hauptbahnhof).

Best time to visit Munich is spring and summer, because it can be rather cold and unfriendly during autumn and winter. This doesn't matter if you plan to visit a lot of museums, but maybe your younger daughter prefers to be outside.

Have fun!!
